Jeweller’s $70m Diamond Ring Cut Entirely From One 150-carat Rock!

Shawish Jewellery, a company based in Geneva, Switzerland, has created a ring made from one enormous chunk of diamond, a dazzling piece of craftsmanship that they have billed as ‘the world’s first diamond ring’.

The 150-carat ring has been valued at around $70 million and took one year to construct as it was a challenging task to master. Unique laser equipment was purchased to ensure the quality of the diamond didn’t suffer through its construction. A hole was cut right through the middle of the huge rock!

It has completely shown up the biggest celebrity rocks on record, the most famous being Elizabeth Taylor’s 33.19-carat diamond ring which falls well short, not to mention Beyonce’s recent 18-carat engagement ring or Kim Kardashian’s 20.5-carat ring.. They might as well have been cubic zirconia in comparison to Shawish’s handiwork!

The incredible piece went on display at Baselworld 2012 last week, the annual watch and jewellery trade show staged in Switzerland.

After months of secrecy, Jessica has finally debuted her ring in public at The Tavern in L.A yesterday!

Biel first showcased her ring at a Saturday Night Live after party at New York City’s Ristorante Asellina on February 18th, but although Amy Poehler and Kristen Wiig got to see it, Jessica managed to keep her new bling hidden from all photographers.

Neither star has talked publicly about their engagement, but a few weeks ago Valentine’s Day director, Garry Marshall, admitted that Jessica had spoken to him at length about their happy news.

The couple, who have been together on-and-off for nearly five years, are planning to wed this summer at a private estate and, of course, the always stylish future Mrs Timberlake is hoping to wear a Monique Lhuillier on her big day.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s 19-year-old daughter, Isabella Cruise, is certainly growing up fast! Recent reports have suggested the blogger is on the verge of announcing her engagement to boyfriend Eddie Frencher.

The young couple only officially confirmed they were dating last week at Connor Cruise’s birthday party although but they have apparently been dating for some time, but only decided to go public with their relationship now as the pair have been discussing the possibility of getting married… Sources close to the family say that both Tom and Nicole approve of her choice of boyfriend as he was also brought up following the Scientology religion.

Engagement rumours were circulating last month, with Isabella adding further fuel to the fire herself by posting a picture of what looks like a diamond engagement ring on her Twitter account this week with the caption, “I adore this.” #yesplease.
